A couple of friends and I are looking to get started on some public DND. We've had some home sessions on my vast 1e collection but we want to transition over to public games (with you Red Planet folks). What do we need to get started?
Thanks, HitMan

Hi Hitman! I'm Paul; I handle some of the shop's games of GURPS along with various other RPGs such as DC Adventures and (hopefully) an upcoming Marvel Super Heroes campaign using some new rules being published early next year. All I had to do to get started was to talk to Mike, the shop owner, and see what can be worked out about a good time to run a campaign. Then, as always with any RPG, it's all about letting your players know you're out there and willing to run a campaign of so many people, whether you allow folks just to watch or "lurk," and so on.
D&D's one of those fun little oddities: everyone likes his or her own edition. I'm an old AD&D 2nd player, myself, with some experience with 3rd. I'm pretty sure Mike and Juli sell the latest release, and I'm pretty sure they sell the Pathfinder RPG as well.

My buddy Josh and I are looking for players or a DM. We own a small part of the 4th and a vast 1st with several modules. We'll take what we can get really. If someone wants to play, Josh or myself will take the DM role. If someone enjoys being the DM then we'll ave no arguements. If possible, are there any DMs that would like to let us join their session?

I would love to have a new D&D campaign start! We are making a few schedule changes at the Red Planet in the new year. We really need a DM who wants to run a game.
We prefer games that we can carry. D&D4e, Pathfinder, GURPS4e, Mutant and Masterminds (3rd I think), Savage Worlds, or the New Marvel Superheroes (If it comes out).
We have a lot of support materials for D&D4e.
What days/times are good for you? (this question is for anyone who wants to play or DM)

I've been told I'm a terrible DM so I think that role needs to be left to a sturdier sole. If it is ok, I will be bringing one guy (who I think would take the DM role) and an additional girl or two to play. As far as the day goes, I'm down for any weekday at about 4pm or so.

What Roleplaying Genres do you guys like to play? i.e. Fantasy, Modern, Sci-fi, Superheroes, wwII?
What kind of games do you like? i.e. lots of fights, diplomacy, maps and mini's, no maps or mini's?

What Roleplaying Genres do you guys like to play? A. Fantasy and Sci-fi.
What kind of games do you like? A. We enjoy a good fight as long as its not complicated. I enjoy the diplomacy end of a large campaign. The girls enjoy representation with mini's and maps. The guy, Josh, and one of the girls, Savannah; are bolstering their wallets getting ready to start either Warhammer 40k or Fantasy and we are as of yet, undecided.
As far as DND goes they're just breaking on to the scene, I recently started playing AD&D 1e and am ready to move up to 4e. The other girl Miranda enjoyed playing Skyrim and I believe she is ready to delve into DND. We just need a few pointers and a date I guess.
In the way of other games, we are open to suggestions.

We also carry DUST Tactics and both Warmachine and Hordes. When we have time we can all go over the merits of each game to help you guys decide.

A lot of people have approached us about roleplaying, but a lot of them are not on our forums. and some are on vacation. I'm sure Andrew and a few others will respond when they get back in town.
We need to get your friends registered on the forums!

I still have the march of the Phantom Brigade campaign that was never finished. It is a brilliant adventure series I would love to run again.

I'll pm the emails and logins. As far as that module goes, we're fairly new we all want to create new 4e characters after coming off 1e ones. Would that be okay? Should we build those in advance? Additionally, as far as materials goes, what do we need? Do we all need a player handbook?
Thanks, HitMan

You can either make new characters or use the pre-made ones that come with it. March of the Phantom Brigade was part of the D&D Encounters Program.
A Players Handbook, Either original Hardback or either Essentials Players Handbook. Polyhedral Dice. Paper and Pencils. Some printed Character sheets.
Access to the Character Generator on Wizards site is a plus.
We will have a D&D 4e Character Maker night this Wednesday at 6pm!
